The Achievement Preparatory Academy (Achievement Prep) is a college-preparatory, tuition-free, middle school for students in Washington, DC, with a focus on communities East of the Anacostia River. Achievement Prep provides students with a highly rigorous curriculum supported by a small, structured school culture.

Achievement Prep was approved by the District of Columbia Public Charter School Board in 2007 and begins with its first class of students in August of 2008. The school will serve fourth and fifth grade students in its first year and will grow one grade per year until it reaches grade eight.

Fairhaven School is a Sudbury model school where learning is entirely self-directed. Students of all ages mix freely, learning from one another and staff. Students are equal participants in running the school. Fairhaven is a true democracy: a weekly school meeting made up of students and staff votes on all aspects of the school's operation, from budgeting to staffing to school rules.

The school also offers a weekly Play Time for children ages three to five and their parents; reservations are required.

The Imagine Hope Community Charter School is a postive, nuturing, and academically challenging public charter school open to all District residents.
