Community Fitness is a group exercise studio that offers classes for children and adults at any fitness level. The pricing structure is unique and does not require membership fees or long term commitment. Participants pay for each individual class they attend, rather than an entire class series.

Federal Way Norman Center YMCA offers features an outdoor sports arena, playground, fenced grass play area, a natural pond, woods with walking trails, and a large facility that hosts childcare, sports, camp, and specialty programs.

Great Play is a children's gym that offers classes in motor skill and athletic development for kids ages six months to 12, private classes for grades K through five, and birthday parties. Check the website for program details.

Facilities at Issaquah Community Center include a gymnasium, youth center, pool, and outdoor skate park. A wide variety of sports classes are offered for children. Preschool and camp programs are also available. Party rentals are available from September through May for $85 (up to 30 participants. MVA offer children's programs at Marymoor Park on the Eastside,

Through the Velo Kids Program, kids ages nine to 17 are introduced to track cycling basics and track racing by experienced coaches and national/international level bicycle racers. No previous experience, other than the ability to ride a bike, is necessary. Sessions are held throughout the summer; classes meet for three weeks. Each session culminates in a competition on Friday night, under the lights at the Velodrome. The program is free. Track bicycles are provided, although riders have to bring their own helmets.

Pee-Wee Pedalers (ages five to eight) play skill-building bike games and must bring their own bicycle and helmet.

Kiddie Kilo bike races are held every other Friday night, where kids get to race on the track for fun.

Power of Hope Youth Camps offer arts-centered intergenerational and multicultural learning programs to teens in western Washington and British Columbia. Programs include summer camps, weekend gatherings, and after school programs Participants learn the values of self-awareness, leadership, community, and social change. The Seattle Architecture Foundation hosts occasional youth and family programs and offers tours of local architecture.

Seattle Go Center offers instruction in the Asian game of Go, also known as Weiqi, Igo, and Baduk. Go is a strategic board game that is played with white and black stones on a grid pattern. The game is very popular in China, Japan, and Korea.

The club features two wrestling programs for kids: folkstyle (scholastic) and freestyle.

The folkstyle season starts in late Oct and runs through Jan; the freestyle season commences in Feb and runs into May (or June depending on skill level). Both programs teach the fundamentals of wrestling while promoting sportsmanship, safety, and fun.

We have competitions with other wrestling clubs throughout western Washington on Saturdays, culminating in League and State Tournaments. Programs are open to all kids regardless of experience and are run in conjunction with the Ballard Boys & Girls Club and USA Wrestling.

South Seattle Community College sponsors a popular cooperative preschool and parent education program, held at several venues throughout the West Seattle/Vashon area, including on the SSCC campus.

These are well-regarded programs in the area, and ideal for parents who want to be closely involved in their child's education. Parents are expected to contribute time to the program, as well as to attend periodic meetings.

Parents whose children are enrolled in a Parent Cooperative preschool are also enrolled in a vocational course through the SSCC called Parent Education Child Study Laboratory, which fosters parenting and family management skills.

Tuition is relatively low, and paid at the preschool location. Open enrollment occurs in March - but put your child's name on the wait list for spots that open up during the year. Call for fee information (each preschool sets its own tuition), class times, and to arrange a visit.

The Little Gym offers age-appropriate movement and gymnastics for kids at all levels of experience.

A room painted with brightly colored murals, filled with gymnastics equipment of all sorts, offers lots to do and plenty of room to run around. Instructors here are friendly and professional, and work at knowing children by name and at including them in the action.

Classes for younger children follow the same pattern every week, so kids know what to expect. The instructor leads songs and fun group activities and teaches basic gymnastics skills, and kids have time for free play and ball play.

Older children learn tumbling and apparatus skills, while gradeschoolers build on those skills in a non-competitive environment. Advanced gymnastics classes, by invitation, are also available for kids ages three-12. Infants to three-year-olds attend with a caregiver, while kids over three attend on their own.

A sports skills class teaches kids ages three-eight the basics in soccer, baseball, basketball, and football, in combination with gymnastics. Classes are also available in karate (ages four-12) and dance (ages three-12)

Birthday parties: A 90-minute party, led by trained staff, includes gymnastics, games, music, set-up/clean-up, paper goods, invitations, and a t-shirt for the birthday child. Parties are held on Saturday afternoons and Sundays only.

The Vedic Cultural Center opened in 2008 and hosts a variety of cultural events and festivals that celebrate traditional Vedic arts. The center also distributes free meals every day.

A Sunday School program is offered for children ages three and up at 5pm. Children learn stories from Ramayan and Mahabharat and learn dances, songs, prayers, and arts.

The Vedic School is held on Sundays for kids ages eight and up from 2:30pm-4:45pm and includes study of the Bhagavad Gita, stories from the Vedas, and Hindi language.

Zoom Language Center specializes in Spanish language classes for kids ages one to 10. Vocabulary and grammar are taught using music, musical instruments, visual aids, and sensory and cognitive games. The center's curriculum was developed by an educational psychologist with more than 30 years experience in bilingual teaching, specializing in young children.

Class sessions for children ages 12 months to seven years are 75 minutes long and divided by age group. Children generally attend one or two times each week.

A Spanish immersion summer camp is offered for children ages two-and-a-half to nine and a playschool program serves ages two to five.
