The Alki Community Center offers a wide variety of programs and classes for all ages, including adults. Toddlers and preschoolers can attend arts classes and playclub (school year and summer). Kids can learn cartooning or pottery, take sports and music classes, or attend arts workshops. Teens have a full schedule that includes sports classes, arts, dance, performing arts, movie nights, and a chance to sit on the Teen Advisory Council.

Drop-in activities include ping-pong and pool all day, as well as a drop-in playtime for tots and their parents during the fall and winter. The Community Center also hosts periodic community events like picnics or sports days for youth. A children's playground and playfield are located adjacent to the center.

The center offers before- and after school care, summer camps, and school break camps. Parents' nights out are offered once a month.

The Community Center's art classes are held at the Bathhouse Art Studio, a beautiful venue located on Alki Beach.

Alki Kids Tae Kwon Do offers classes in tai chi, chi gong, yoga, kids' Bushido training, and tae kwon do, taught by Master Steve Coates, Seventh Degree Black Belt Koryo Moo Sool Association.

Centre at Norpoint features a climbing wall, classes in a variety of arts and sports, a gymnasium, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

The water temperature at Centre at Norpoint Pool is maintained at 85 degrees and the pool features a beach walk-in, a mushroom waterfall, two hot spas, and a dry sauna. Swimming lessons and swim party packages are available.

The Community Center at Mercer View is open daily and offers beautiful views of Lake Washington and the Cascades. The two-story facility features meeting rooms, an arts and crafts area, an indoor art gallery, health, fitness, and dance rooms, a game room with foosball, board games, pool, and cable TV, free Wi-fi, and a children's play area.

EMA offers martial arts classes for children and families in a safe learning environment. Class offerings include opportunities for family members to train together. In addition to providing a great physical workout, classes emphasize mental training, character development, and safety skills.

Facilities at Fauntleroy include a gymnasium, with classes for kids in martial arts. Youth sports include basketball, indoor soccer, and T-ball.

Home of the City of Edmond's Parks and Recreation Department, the Frances Anderson Center is the site of events, community meetings, and classes, including fitness, arts, and sports programs. It is also home to Olympic Ballet School, Edmonds Montessori School, a pottery school, martial arts training, a day care, a youth club, and the Edmonds Arts Festival Museum.

Garfield is one of Seattle's best community centers, located next door to the Medgar Evers Pool. The center offers sports programs, dance and movement classes, music lessons, before- and after school programs, summer and school break camps

The center is well-known for its special teen programs, including a Teen Life Center where kids ages 14 to 17 can congregate for dances, barbecues, or just have a place to call their own where they can hang out with friends. Green Lake Community Center offers a variety of programs for all ages, including a play center for toddlers, pottery classes, sports (tennis, martial arts, volleyball, flag football, soccer, basketball), excellent drama classes held in conjunction with the Seattle Public Theatre, early childhood music classes, a teen program (including Friday Teen Night), and a changing array of classes.

Preschool classes are available for children ages three to five.

The center is attached to Evans Pool, which offers a variety of instructional, recreational, and exercise swim programs.

The Green Lake School Age Program offers an after-school program and summer Kung Fu camp for kids. Instructor J.B. Lunon brings over 36 years of teaching experience, in both martial arts and theater, and is an inductee into the 2007 International Black Belt Hall of Fame. The program strives to teach kids how to make disipline fun.

Hiawatha offers before- and afterschool care, music and movement for pre-schoolers, family music classes, sports programs for school-age kids, and day camps, among its many family-friendly programs. The Center also features a playfield, lighted running track, tennis courts, a large wading pool (open daily during the summer) and kids' playground, and a batting cage.

The newly-renovated and expanded center High Point Community Center offers before- and afterschool care, school break camps, karate, cooking class, computer lab, basketball, flag football, volleyball, a teen program, and Friday Family Movie Night among its family-friendly programs.

Facilities at Issaquah Community Center include a gymnasium, youth center, pool, and outdoor skate park. A wide variety of sports classes are offered for children. Preschool and camp programs are also available. Party rentals are available from September through May for $85 (up to 30 participants. Created by young people as a place to hang out and have fun, the Kirkland Teen Union Building offers a technology lab, two stages for live music, a photography darkroom, youth-run cafe, professional recording studio, and more.

KTUB also offers classes on a quarterly basis, including audio recording, photography, breakdancing, yoga, and barista training.

Lightning Tae Kwon Do offers martial arts for ages four and up.

Magnolia Community Center offers a variety of programs for all ages, including sports, art, cooking, and dance.

Family Movie Nights happen the first Friday of the month.

One of the prettiest Community Centers in town, Meadowbrook offers before- and afterschool camp, summer and school-break camps, organized sports, and art, music, and dance classes. North Kirkland Community Center offers year-round parent/child, preschool, youth, and teen recreation programs, as well as classes in music, art, dance, drama, cooking, science, languages, yoga, aerobics, and more. The center also has a drop-in indoor playground for children ages one to five, open from mid-September through early June. Call for days and times.

Summer Junior Day Camps are available for kids ages six to eight. Peter Kirk Camps are offered in the summer for kids ages six to twelve.

The Northshore YMCA serves Kenmore, Bothell, Woodinville and other areas of Northeast King County. The facility includes a swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness center, racquetball courts, youth adventure zone, and nursery.

This branch hosts a preschool, child care at area elementary schools, summer day camps, youth/family sports (gymnastics, martial arts, youth strength training, swim lessons from ages six months-adult, and swim team), and family nights.

One Point Holistic Center offers classes for all ages. The curriculum includes creative dance for toddlers through age five, Aikido for ages five and up, and Yoga for teens and adults. Dance and Aikido summer camps are also available.

One World Aikido offers classes for adults, teens, and children in aikido, a martial art which teaches compassion, builds self esteem, cultivates non-violent solutions to conflict, and develops leadership skills.

The Phinney Neighborhood Association, housed in a beautiful old converted elementary school, helps build community by offering classes and programs for adults, cooperative preschool, before- and afterschool care for school-age kids, and vacation and summer day camps.

It also hosts a wide variety of community organizations that offer classes for kids in music, martial arts, and dance. The center also offers infant/child CPR classes on a regular basis. For class information, check the website or contact the center - offerings change quarterly.

The PNA's full calendar includes fun family-friendly events like the annual Halloween Carnival, Winter Festival and Crafts Fair, and the Ridge Romp children's entertainment series, held on the second Saturday of each month during the school year.

Chinese Kempo Karate encourages physical fitness by increasing endurance, strength, muscle tone, and mental alertness. Kempo Karate can also enhance the development of self-esteem, a positive attitude, and confidence by increasing self-defense skills and fostering courage. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to observe the training classes.

Safety is strictly emphasized and instructors and trainers are trained in basic and advanced techniques of Kempo, Karate, and Jujitsu.

Puget Sound Gymnastics and Dance offers recreational and competitive gymnastics in a full-sized gym with beams, vault, bars, and a 40x40 foot floor. At Seattle Kajukenbo, children's classes focus on the study of Kung Fu, while also integrating elements of gymnastics. The focus is on teaching respect for one's self and others, diligence, complete effort, leadership, and peace-keeping skills. Summer camps are available for kids ages six to 12. Yoga classes are also offered and use a peace-based philosophy taught through games, poses, meditation, and stories.

Children ages six to 11, who come from low income families, can study Kung Fu at no charge. Income-based sliding scale and scholarships are available for kids of other ages.

Si View offers a park with a spectacular view of Mount Si, a community center, a pool, fields, and tennis courts. The community center offers classes and camps for kids.

Southwest offers a wealth of family programs, such as Fabulous Family Fridays, a new teen center and computer room, and kids' classes, including before- and afterschool care, pottery, karate, sports, dance, toddler playgroup, and day camps.

The center and pool recently underwent $2.9 million of Pro Parks Levy-funded upgrades that include the addition of the 7,000 square-foot teen center and computer room, more space for child care and community events, improvements to the gym, an enhancements to the play area.

Swim lessons are available at the Southwest Pool.

Southwest Preschool is open Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm, at monthly fees ranging from $120-300 (depending on number of days attending).

Indoor facilities at Sprinker Recreation Center include an ice arena, indoor tennis, racquetball, and wallyball courts. The outdoor facilities include ball fields, a skateboard park, horseshoe pits, pickleball and basketball courts, and a practice mountain climbing rock.

Classes are available for children and adults in art, dance, tumbling, ice skating, tennis, music, hockey, golf, fencing, and martial arts.

Birthday parties at the skating rink are available for $120 (up to 10 children). Parties include invitations, skate rental, a party room, balloons, a SUBWAY Kid's Pak for each child, a birthday cake, and each guest receives coupons for a free skating pass and miniature golf on a future date.
