Encinitas Charter High School offers both a traditional classroom program and an individual learning program that provides general and college preparatory programs on a flexible, college-style schedule in a format designed to meet a variety of student needs.

Private, alternative high school with an emphasis on one-to-one teaching and mastery-based learning. Flexible scheduling and open enrollment all year. Both full- and part-time students are welcome.

Club Xcite is an innovative after school and summer mentoring organization dedicated to assisting families who need a helping hand in educating, mentoring, or just involving their children in athletic, academic, or social activities.

Club Xcite has structured programs that fit the need of kids who have learning disabilities, hard time making friends, social anxiety, difficulty focusing, struggle getting movtivate, bi-polar, behavioral problems, or any other special needs.

Mentors can provide transportation from school to your house (if needed), make sure homework gets done correctly, provide one-on-one academic tutoring in problem areas, instruct child in different sports and outdoor activities, and act as a positive role model and friend.

Club Xcite! also offers a summer camps for kids ages eight to twelve who have a harder time making friends. The camps build and maintain an environment where kids feel that they can be themselves, open up, make friends, and most importantly, have fun. All activities, sports, and games are selected to help inspire and develop friendships, with a ratio of one counselor to every two or three campers.

Xcite Steps is an innovative after school and summer mentorship club dedicated to assisting children, teens and adults with developmental or cognitive disabilities. Xcite Steps has structured programs that fit the needs of persons with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental disabilities, cognitive disabilities, fragile x, or any other challenges.

Xcite Steps builds a program around your child’s needs and provides a qualified, youthful, and compassionate mentor who works with your child in an encouraging and positive environment. The key to our program is overcoming challenges step by step.

Xcite Steps mentors can get your child involved in fun outdoor or indoor recreational activities individually or with others and work on areas where they need improvement. The mentors select activities that inspire children, teens, and adults and teach them how to be successful with their own abilities.

Xcite Steps also offers week-long summer camps for kids and teens with developmental or cognitive challenges. Xcite Steps works hard to build and maintain an environment where campers feel like they can be themselves, open up, make friends and most importantly have fun. The sports, arts and crafts, community outings, and outdoor recreational games and activities help inspire and develop friendships.

New Generations Learning Center is a childcare facility serving children ages six weeks to 12 years. It uses the Project Approach teaching method and features parent-accessible webcams, an in-house chef, and an advanced security system.

NGLC also offers a private kindergarten and a before- and afterschool program.

Founded in 1989, California State University San Marcos opened its doors to students in the fall of 1990. Nearly 8,500 students currently attend the 304-acre campus, located in the foothills of northern San Diego County, just a short distance from some of Southern California's best beaches and an hour from the US-Mexico border.

As a community college in El Cajon, Grossmont prepares students for "success at baccalaureate institutions" and "to develop their workplaces skills". Over 100 vocational and academic programs are offered, serving a diverse student body.

The Mission Valley Y is the twenty-fifth largest facility of its kind in the US and host to the largest summer camp program in North America (they must be doing something right over there). Mission Valley YMCA's facilities include the Mission Valley YMCA on Friars Road, the YMCA at Hazard Center, the Toby Wells YMCA, and Downtown YMCA.

Aquatics programs: Mission Valley YMCA offers a wide variety of aquatic programming. Its three pools (two at Friars Road and one at Toby Wells) are heated to different temperatures for optimal use for fitness, swim lessons, therapy and recreation. Programs include swim lessons, Master's swim, lap swimming, water exercise, recreational swim, swim team, arthritis classes, stroke clinics and more.

Fitness: Each Mission Valley YMCA facility has a state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with strength-training and cardio equipment. They offer computerized tracking of workouts; experienced and caring fitness coaches and personal trainers; 30-minute circuit training, mind/body programs; TVs on all cardio equipment, teen and tween fitness programs and more. More than 100 fitness classes are offered weekly, including group exercise, mind/body, indoor cycling and more.

The Toby Wells YMCA facility boasts an 11,000-square-foot gymnastics center. Toddlers learn the basics of movement in play-oriented lessons; school age children are introduced to more advanced gymnastics techniques and may choose to enter the competitive program.

Preschool: The Toby Wells YMCA has a developmental preschool for children ages three to five. It is a full-time program and includes weekly swim/gymnastics lessons and a family membership to the Y.

Babysitting: Kids Place at the Friars Road and Toby Wells locations offers up to two hours of babysitting while parents use the facility.

Sports Activities: Youth sports options for kids include basketball, t-ball, soccer, flag football, gymnastics, swim team, skateboarding, and karate.

Youth Organizations: Children in Kindergarten through Third Grade may join the Y Adventure Guides or Y Trailblazers programs. Twice each month these groups schedule meetings and an expedition activity or campout for a weekend. A great way to develop a lifelong relationship between parent and child. Teens have an opportunity to participate in Youth and Government or other monthly Teen events planned by the teens themselves.
