Steppingstone Scholars is a non-profit educational program that recruits academically motivated fourth-graders for a 14-month academic program, with the aim of placing them in the region's best college preparatory schools in sixth grade.

Steppingstone Scholars believes that children, regardless of circumstance, can earn life-transforming opportunities through education. Applicants should be students, ages nine to 10, who show academic promise, are determined to work hard, and have support at home. Potential Scholars and their families must also demonstrate a need for the services - academic and otherwise - that Steppingstone provides.

The Agora Cyber Charter School is a K12 Inc. Certified School offering a tuition-free public education program to children in grades kindergarten through 10 who reside anywhere within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Agora Cyber Charter School is a home-based, full-time, full service school that offers an innovative, high-quality public education option.

Agora Cyber Charter School serves a wide range of students, such as home-schoolers, students who travel (such as performers or athletes), college-bound students, students with special needs, gifted students, and motivated, independent learners.

Agora Cyber Charter School uses a curriculum developed by K12 Inc., and provides loaner desktop computers and printers, Internet reimbursement, and community support. Most coursework is completed online under the guidance of professional, certified teachers who work with students in real time, including interactive demonstrations and multimedia sessions.

The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School was founded in 2004 as a cyber charter school. It is a free public school available to children in grades Kindergarten through 12 who reside anywhere within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

PALCS has a full service special education division with special ed teachers who work directly with parents, students, and other regular teachers. PALCS can provide in-home related services throughout the state to students with unique needs. A gifted education program is also available.

PALCS provides students with a computer in their home (free of charge), where coursework is completed online under the guidance of nearly 100 teachers who work with students in real time, including interactive demonstrations, whiteboard sessions, and multimedia sessions.

Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School combines a classical education with the latest computer and internet technology, tailoring the educational experience to the unique needs of the individual child. PALCS is a full curriculum, full service K-12 school that offers high school diplomas that are equivalent to those of other public high schools.

PALCS also offers a cyber performing and fine arts program as an adjunct, on-site component to the charter school. The Center for Performing and Fine Arts instructs nearly 100 students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, in theater, dance, music and fine arts. Classes are offered two days a week at the PALCS site in West Chester, Chester County. Students complete their cyber coursework at home on the alternate three days.

The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School is a cyber charter school offering a free public school education program to children in grades Kindergarten through 12, who reside anywhere within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. PA Cyber is a full curriculum, full service school that offers high school diplomas that are equivalent to those of other public high schools.

PA Cyber serves a wide range of students including, home-schoolers, students who travel (such as performers or athletes), young mothers or fathers, college-bound students, credit-deficient students, and motivated, independent learners.

PA Cyber provides students with a computer in their home, where coursework is completed online under the guidance teachers who work with students in real time, including interactive demonstrations, whiteboard sessions, and multimedia sessions. PA Cyber also offers a special education division and a gifted education program.

Old City Child Care & Learning Center offers daycare and preschool for children ages one to six, and afteschool care for kids in Kindergarten through grade six.

The facility's professional, fully-certified staff provides safe, intimate care for young children; the staff to child ratio is approximately four to one. Preschool activities include Spanish and sign language instruction, kids' yoga, arts and crafts, and stimulating field trips.

Full- and half-day programs are offered and meals can be provided on-site. Parent interaction is strongly encouraged.

The Children's Place offers daycare (beginning at the age of three months), preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classes, and afterschool care (for children up to age 11). The school is licensed and accredited by the Department of Education.

All teachers are PA certified, with extensive in-house and workshop based programs. The school has been in operation for 18 years.

The outdoor play area has a playground with age-appropriate equipment, including swings, a slide, rubber playground surfacing, and an enclosed fence. Children also participate in field trips to outside facilities (farms, museums, the fire house, etc.) and are treated to inhouse guest speakers and plays, based on the curriculum.

The carpeted classrooms offer age-appropriate materials and equipment, and are center-oriented.

Registration fees are $60 for the nursery program, $40 for before and afterschool care, and $125 for kindergarten and first grade. Applications are accepted year-round, or during the month of May for the summer camp program.

The Beacon Center for Children is a non-sectarian childcare center and preschool for kids ages two to five; half- and full-day sessions are available two, three, four, or five days a week.

The Beacon center also offers a summer camp program for children ages five to eight. Afterschool care is available for students (ages five to eight) attending Greenfield Elementary School.

The Community College's Lively Arts Series often features children's and family performances. Most shows take place in the Science Center Theater at the Blue Bell Campus. The campus is also occasionally host to other family-friendly events.

Bucks County Community College (BCCC) offers a wide range of post-secondary academic programs and services, as well as PSAT/SAT prep classes for high school students and summer camp programs for kids ages eight and up.

The BCCC also occasionally serves as a venue for community events that open to the public.
