Temple Beth Shmuel Montessori School teaches practical skills, language, arts, science, social studies, math, and music in a structured, conservative Judaic environment.

Park highlights are a vita course, basketball court and a tennis court. Programs include an After School program, Cheerleading, Table Tennis, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Softball, Golf, Summer Camp, Winter Camp, Spring Camp, Teacher Planning Days, and Indoor Games.

The park is located off Biscayne Boulevard in Miami's Upper Eastside, an area rapidly growing in popularity amongst young families.

The West Dade YMCA offers afterschool, sports, and camp programs.

Afterschool takes place at Banyan Elementary School for pre-K through 5th graders from 2pm-6pm. The charge is $29 per week (plus $30 annual membership fee). The program runs Monday through Friday through the academic year for Miami-Dade Public schools. Children receive homework help, and participate in arts & crafts and outdoor games.

The sports programs take place at the local schools and parks and change seasonally. Spring programs include basketball, soccer, football, and cheerleading. Baseball and basketball are available in the summer months.

The summer camp program is for children 4 years and up and costs $75 per week for members, $85 per week for nonmembers. Children participate in arts & crafts, sports, swimming and music activities. Camp runs from June 11th through August 21st, 2001 from 7am-6pm (before care 7am-9am and after care 5pm-6pm for no extra charge), Monday through Friday. Camps are also open during school vacation days.

Club P.L.A.Y. (Premier Leisure Activities for Youth) offers afterschool and event programming at the Coral Gables Youth Center.

Afterschool children participate in theatre arts, arts & crafts, ceramics, gymnastics, games, sports, cooking, golf, and field trips. Homework help is also offered. Children are divided into groups according to age, with Kindergarten to First Grade, Second to Third Grade, and Fourth to Sixth Grade groupings. This program is offered Monday through Friday, 2pm-6pm, during the school year. Cost per week is $45 members, $60 Coral Gables residents, and $75 non-residents/non-members.

Club P.L.A.Y. All Day offers outings on teacher work days and on several days throughout the summer months. Please see the calendar for more information.

Located in North Miami, this branch of FIU houses the School of Nursing and the School of Hospitality Management. Some community events take place at the Mary Ann Wolfe Theatre.

The campus is the site of some family oriented events throughout the year.

The Wellington Jewish Community Center (JCC) of the Greater Palm Beaches is one of three centers serving the Greater Palm Beaches area.

The Dave and Mary Alper Jewish Community Center (JCC) on the Jay Morton-Levinthal Campus is a beautiful facility offering programming for children ages 6 months and up (and their parents!). The facility offers a complete fitness center, competition size swimming pool, a large gymnasium, tennis courts, roller hockey rink, racquetball courts, and six baseball fields.

It's also home to the Lisa Ann Watson Children's Discovery Museum.

Day care is offered for children ages three months to six years when parents are participating in JCC activities. The day care center is open from Mon-Fri 9am-12n; Mon-Thu 4:30pm-7:45pm; and Sun 9am-12n.

The Early Childhood Development Center offers classes for children ages 16 months to 5 years. Half and full day, and three and five day, options are offered. Specialty classes for preschoolers include baseball (Danny Berry), ballet and jazz, ceramics, Little Kickers Soccer, Swim Gym, and tennis.

Athletics, cultural, and arts programs abound for older children as well. The list is impressive and far too extensive to include here. Check the website or call the facility for a complete list. Special programs of note are Kids Connection Afterschool Program, Swim Gym classes, tennis and Danny Berry's JCC Baseball.

Birthday parties at the JCC are for up to 20 children, ages five to 11 years, and include a 2-hour room rental, a party coordinator, party games, decorations, invitations, pizzas, soda, ice cream cake, set-up and clean up. Party activities can be tailored to your child's interests, including aerobics ($400), basketball ($300), bead making ($400), ceramics ($400), cooking ($350), sports ($300), swimming ($350), and t-shirt making ($400). All prices include a specialist in the chosen area to facilitate the party fun. Prices are for members only, nonmembers will pay an additional fee. Summer camp at the JCC runs from June through August. Specialty camps such as Danny Berry's JCC Baseball Camp and John McLean's Tennis Camp are also offered.
