The website for Houston ISD has information on all of the elementary, intermediate, and high schools throughout the district, as well as magnet and charter schools.

Ripley House Charter School offers prekindergarten through fifth grade.

The mission of The New School in the Heights is to provide an alternative educational experience for children in kindergarten through ninth grade with good or superior intelligence whose social-emotional delays interfere with success in school and life.

The school also hosts an "Arts in the Afternoon" afterschool program, which is open to children from other schools as well. The program is for children in grades four through nine.

The school's Super Cyber Summer Adventure focuses on web design, digital photography, computer
graphics, and other computer skills, while also developing kids' social skills.

When you have your event at Jump Extreme Fun Zone, party coordinators lead you through a private party experience featuring inflatable castles, obstacle courses, huge slides, rock climbing, interactive jousting, hoops shootout, and more. After playing in the Jump Zones, enjoy time in a personal party room. Pizza, ice cream, and drinks are optional extras. The hosts even clean up after you leave.

Jump Extreme Fun Zone also offers before- and after-school care for children ages five to 12, opening before school at 6:30am and staying open after school until 6:30pm.

Esperanza School offers childcare for infants ages six weeks old up through pre-kindergarten, plus after-school care for elementary school kids. A parents' night out is also available on most Saturday nights.

The EA Smith Family YMCA serves the residents of Clear Lake, Webster, Friendswood, Seabrook, and the surrounding communities.

Before and after-school care is offered for 11 area schools in the Clear Creek Independent School District. Before-school care is provided onsite at the YMCA Mon-Fri beginning at 6:30am. After-school care is provided at various locations Mon-Fri from the time students are released from school until 6:30pm. Transportation is provided to and from school by certified drivers for your convenience.

Swimming lessons, lifeguard courses, and several youth sports programs are available for all ages.

Y Day Camp gives children the opportunity to play games, create arts and crafts, explore science and technology, swim, participate in field trips, and appreciate nature. Sleepover camps are available for children ages six to 16.

San Jacinto College hosts a variety of shows and special events open to the communty.

The University of St. Thomas offers undergraduate and graduate programs, and hosts occasional shows and special events open to the public. The small, well-manicured campus in the middle of a residential neighborhood is also a nice place to take the wee ones for a stroll.

Lone Star College - CyFair hosts shows and special events open to the community at its Center for the Arts. The box office phone number is 281.290.5201.

The campus is also home to the Cy-Fair Library, part of the Harris County Public Library system.

The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best day camp for little kids in Houston, Kids in Action offers a variety of year-round movement education programs for newborns up through children 11 years old. The programs focus on developing motor skills, learning body awareness, songs with movement, basic tumbling and gymnastics, hand-eye coordination, sensory development, and more.

Among the four different Kindermusik programs is one for newborns, lap babies, crawlers, and early walkers. Other Kindermusik programs are designed for progressively older kids, up to age seven.

Kids in Action also offers karate, gymnastics/creative movement, and a "Playful Parenting" class for parents with their little ones, ages six months to four years old.

Birthday party packages are also available, with music and organized physical activity. Day care options include a kids' day out program for potty-trained children ages two-and-a-half to five: a full-day session is from 9:30am-2:30pm; half-day morning or afternoon sessions are also available.

Day camps are offered in summer, as well as during school vacations such as Christmas break and Spring break.
