...place to spend the day with your family splashing around on the beach, sliding down the giant slide, playing with your children on the revamped and bouncy playscape, having a picnic by the water, or taking a slow walk around the fountain to watch it change colors at dusk. It's also nice to just drive through and watch the sunset on the waters of the Detroit or Canadian skyline.

We took our kids here a couple summers ago when the aquarium was still opened (zoo was closed at the time), and they had a blast. The fountain was really intriguing, and the view across the water is amazing. I saw no crime occuring, in fact, there were quite a few family reunions/parties going on; one with some bounce houses. There were people of many nationalities, even some tourists taking photos. The conservatory with the flowers and plants was also gorgeous, and we in fact did get some great pictures. By no means the 'creme de la creme', but certainly a great day trip. =)
