GORWING UP IN THE CITY U SEE THE ADS FOR DISNEYLAND EVERYWHERE. MOST OF US HERE CAN'T AFFORD A TRIP LIKE THAT BUT THANKS TOO CONEYISLAND WE HAVE OUR OWN PLACE HERE. I COME FROM A SINGLE PARENT HOME WITH 9 CHILDREN PLUS EXTRA'S WITH ONE INCOME IN THE HOUSE ALL WE COULD DO AS A FAMILY WAS CONEYISLAND. i'M GREATFUL FOR ALL THE GOODTIMES OVER THE LAST 34 YRS THAT i HAVE HAD THERE.iT'S TRUELY THE ONE PLACE YEAR AFTER YEAR THAT THE ENTIRE FAMILY ARE ABLE TO COME TOGETHER AND SEE ONE ANOTHER. IT'S THE WHERE MY FAMILY HAS HELD IT'S FAMILY REUNION SINCE I WAS BORN. EVEN THOUGH WE DON'T HAVE BEAUTIFUL SUNNY WHEATHER IN NYC ALL YEAR LONG. WE HAVE CONEYISLAND TO LOOK FORWARD TOO EACH YEAR. THE PARK HAS BEEN SUCH A BIG PART OF MY FAMILIES LIFE THAT i WAS STARTING TO FEEL DEPRESSED AT THE FACT I MIGHT BEABLE TO ENJOY FUTURE YEARS THERE WITH MY SON. WITH ALL THESE CHANGES IN THE WORLD IT GREAT TO STILL HAVE A PLACE FROM CHILDHOOD TO O BACK TOO AND TO SHARE IT WITH MY CHILD LIKE MY FFAMILY HAS SHARED WITH ME. NO WHER ELSE CAN U FIND A BEACH,GAMES,RIDES,ALL THE FOODS U WANT AND INTERESTING CHARATERS. THE HISTORY IS UNDENIABLE. WE LOVE CONEYISLAND AND LOOK FORWARD TO RETURNING THERE TODAY AND NEXT SATURDAY AS ALWAYS.

like so many people that hear about the historical astroland in coney island, i was really excited to finally go with the company of my 2yr old and 5yr old children. what was expected was far different than what i got. the area and the park itself were very oudated almost as if to fall apart as you climb on. thank god for its coupon on their website or you'll be wasting alot of money. make sure you read the fine print on coupon and on the signs as you go there. i had to find out the hard way about the p.o.p bracelets (only good until a certain time on weekdays). the children section was very disappionting since there was very few rides. my 5 yr old got bored quick since this section is targeted for toddlers and the rides he did want to go on was for bigger kids and up. the things that really disturbed me was how dirty this place really is. the big shocker for me was having to pay for the bathroom useage( .25 cents is small but you would think they might clean it up or supply you with toilet paper, just maybe.)i found out later the bathrooms near the beach are free but only open for a small period of time. some of the workers were quite rude and very unpurfessional as i caught a worker verbaly insulting a mother in front of a group of children over something very small as a ticket. the olderkids/adult rides looked fun just nothing i would want to take another three hour train ride to go to. if you must go to see for yourself go very early set a limit on how much you're going to spend and go on a friday (they have fireworks right on the beach). if you're a single parent and going with more than one child dont try to do this alone, make sure to bring a friend or relative for support.
