The Corner Store is a not-for-profit arts center located one block from
Eastern Market, showcasing the work of local actors, playwrights, musicians, filmmakers, artists, poets, and chefs.
Owner and artist Kris Swanson also created the fabulous mural,
The Yume Tree, which is located nearby on the CVS wall at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 12th Street, SE. More than one thousand children in area schools sculpted and signed the three-inch name tiles that form the body of the tree, and the leaves of the tree are mirrors. New tiles are added every six months or so; check in at the store if you are interested in adding your name!
